Dear Current Students, Families and Staff-
The school year is quickly coming to an end and I am in awe of the growth the students have made. Those who entered reluctantly in the fall, unsure whether or not they were ready to separate from family, are now navigating the classroom with confidence in their new skills and enjoyment in their new friendships.
Many of the students will be moving on to Kindergarten in the fall. If they haven't yet, they will be riding a "big bus" to visit their elementary school with their classmates and with one of the familiar adults from the program. Additionally, to ensure a smooth transition, the sending PreK team and the receiving Kindergarten teams will meet to review information about students and answer questions regarding learning styles, strategies, etc. We wish them all well as they move forward in their educational journey.
I want to thank parents and staff who worked with us to improve student attendance patterns. Consistent attendance is proven to be a major factor in determining academic success. Special thanks goes out to Soely Barros, School Social Worker, who led the efforts to educate families on the importance of developing healthy school habits.
To Perspective Students and Families-
If you have a child born in 2012 or 2013, and have not already done so, please feel free to stop Town Hall or by our main office at 322 Prospect St., for program information or to complete an application for the 2016-17 school year.
On behalf of the Windham Early Childhood Program, I would like to wish you all a safe, fun-filled summer. We will look forward to seeing our returning and new friends in the fall.
